James Painter is a PLAYER, plain and simple. Always fit,tackle count and workrate on the pitch is superlative. I have never seen Painter walk on a rugby pitch unless ,of course, the whistle was blown. James is always friendly off the pitch but do NOT rile him up. On the pitch, no quarter is given or expected in return. If you are killing the ball under Painter's boot, may the rugby spirits have mercy on you hide. Still can play with the 35s but prefers to pull duty on the 50s. James graduated from West Virginia and was a longtime standout with the Norfolk Blues. Long service with VRU selects. James Painter represents the best of Cardinal pride and hard rugby.
