The Richmond Rugby Foundation is committed to promoting rugby in Virginia. The Foundation is incorporated by the State of Virginia as a non-profit organization and has a vision to develop the best rugby playing facilities on the East Coast. The Foundation currently has title to 9.27 acres of land on Whiteside Road in East Sandston, near Richmond International Airport. The original note on this property was over $60,000 and has been gradually reduced over the years; in the last 2 years over $21,000 has been raised. Our last fundraiser and gala cocktail party at the Grogan's on Sept 15th 2001 was a huge success with donations exceeding $7000 and counting pledges (over 12k) our note is virtually retired! But this is only the beginning, we have a long way to go. We must secure the pledges and raise approximately $20000 to finance grading and field installation and basic structures to shelter our maintenance gear and provide a simple structure for the players.

As of Jan 2005, we have cleared, graded, and have grass growing on one pitch.

.

Our playing facility will be a lasting reminder to your support, love for the game, and a place where you can meet with old friends, bring your family, promote rugby for all age levels youth-adult-oldboy, and best of all, be near the action and future of rugby in our State and the East Coast.
Jan 31,2004 We secured over $1500 in pledges at the Annual Awards Banquet from the active players and over $500 in actual cash.

March 24th, 2003 was an historic day for our Club and The Richmond Rugby Foundation. The Board unanomously approved Pete Sweet's proposal to break ground on our property in Sandston this spring under the guidlines set forth in the minutes.
